  1. If there can be a resistance to leptin, is it also possible for there to be an an oversensitivity to it? Could leptin also be involved in cases of loss of appetite?

  2. Im curious as to what other parts of the brain are affected by ER stress, does this shift in hypothalamic processing have any other repercussions aside from those associated with obesity?

  3. Was the only purpose in removing the gene XPB1 to secure obesity in the mice? Or is there a lack in the same or similar gene in obese humans?

  4. Most diet drugs have unintended side effects that can do more harm than good, such as speeding up heart rate, preventing the absorption of proper nutrients, and even death. Are we aware of any potentially harmful side effects that could occur with the use of leptin? Or is it relatively safe because it is a naturally occurring chemical in the brain?
